AREAS OF FOCUS FOR OUR 3 PILLARS OF HEALTH

Detoxification

Living in modern times today provides us with many conveniences and technology advancements, but this also increases the amount of toxic exposure we encounter on a daily basis. Detoxification refers to the process of removing toxins which include metals, pesticides, and other harmful chemicals from the body. Our body accumulates these harmful toxins over time which can lead to various illnesses. Environmental pollutants and toxins greatly strain the body’s detoxification systems and can directly weaken our immunity and create ongoing inflammation in the body.

Through having the right nutrients in our diet and using nutraceuticals, we can better remove these toxins from our body by focusing on cleansing and supporting our most important detoxification organ: the liver. Keeping our liver clean and functioning optimally is the key to total body health and vitality. Our diet should contain antioxidant-rich foods that are needed to reduce free radical damage and adequate fiber to ensure the elimination of waste and accumulated toxins in the digestive tract. Benefits of detoxification include increased energy, weight loss, improved digestion, boosted immunity, improved sleep, and many more.

Gut Health

Our gut refers to our gastrointestinal tract which is the passageway of the digestive system that leads from the mouth to the anus. It aids in the digestion of foods we eat, absorbs nutrients, and uses these nutrients to fuel and maintain our body. We remain healthy as long as our various systems can efficiently receive the raw materials that are needed to nurture and repair our body. With this in mind, it is easy to recognise the importance of gut health. In fact, 70% of our immune system is also located in the gut, which means that if your gut is not healthy, then your immune system won’t function properly which can lead to many illnesses. The gut has also been linked to the brain which means that poor digestive health can even lead to mood disorders.

An unhealthy gut can appear as gas, bloating, constipation and diarrhea, but it can present itself in many other forms as well. Having the right diet and nutrients will help optimize the gut microbiome and eliminate the symptoms of an unhealthy gut.

Hormone Balance

Our hormones are the body’s chemical messengers. They work slowly, over time, and affect many different processes. When your hormones get “out of whack”, there are several unwanted consequences that can occur such as mood swings, weight gain, lack of energy, dry hair and skin, and many more. The foods we eat and our lifestyle habits play a big role in hormonal balance. Our hormones are made using amino acids from protein and fatty acids from fats. The better quality materials we use, the better quality hormones our bodies create.

Although hormonal changes are a part of natural aging, it does not have to cause unwanted symptoms. In this unique course that combines knowledge about menopause and proper nutrition and chef inspired diet plans, you will learn how to balance your hormones naturally by focusing on an anti-inflammatory and nutrient-dense foods, removing endocrine disruptors, incorporating stress relief habits, and finding a balance with exercise.
